Do you really want to know what you are doing?
If you're just looking to just pass the test, well, I guess we can help you with that too, but our real mission is to provide students with a hybrid curriculum and open lab environment that will teach you how to do the job and enough repetition to retain the knowledge.
Many facilities seem to worry too much about getting your money than providing you with the opportunity to fully learn your skills. Over the years, we've heard story after story from students taking classes elsewhere that had pitifully small labs with too many students. Everyone ends up watching over each others shoulders while one person did the work. Some actually complete the course without ever even touching a router. This can't be the way to create a strong IT industry.
Part of the many projects that our instructor, Damian Cianci, is involved in is working with the National Science Foundation, Department of Labor, Boeing and others in developing innovative curriculum that will meet the competitive, fast paced need of today's society. He brings this knowledge to our Cisco programs, building what we feel is a fresh new perception in a seriously growth charged industry.
The first step was for us was to rebuild the curriculum, and streamline the content. As you may have read in the Network+ section, we thinned out all the basic network content from the CCNA program and move it into the Network+ program. This leaves us with a shorter, lower cost course that will get you certified faster and still focus on content and understanding. We also cap our classes at 8-10 students to ensure that every student will have there own equipment. This allows all the lab-work in our CCNA course to be done in groups of no more than two. With 16 stations and several routers and switches this gives us at least two routers, two switches, and even two PCs per student.
We do assume that the student has a certain degree of understanding before hand, and we can assess that before enrollment. But, that is not to imply that you have to already be a network professional before you think signing up. Damian, and our staff are in the office all day and you can arrange an appointment to come in and talk about the classes, and visit the lab any time.
